The newly developed GPpS polymerization unit by Daor has achieved furtherimprovements in the performance of its key components. The monomerpolymerization reaction takes place in an upgraded fully mixed reactor,ensuring more uniform melt temperature. The secondary reaction employs astereospecific plug-flow reactor based on the principle of static mixing andcontinuous plug flow, characterized by precise temperature control anduniform heat mixing and exchange. Polymerization at a consistenttemperature ensures easier control over the molecular weight distribution andsize of the product, with a controllable melt index range of 1-30. This enablesthe production of high-quality polystyrene in various grades.
